Cadman's Gambit is accepted by Five Star Books

Five Star Books

This is what the site says:

This is the place to find excellent fiction written by Indie authors.

Our goal is to have a place for you (the reader) to find excellent new authors, and not have to wade through 1-3 star books to find them. How do we pick the novels featured on 5-Star Books? First, the book must have predominantly 5-Star reviews on Amazon.com. After that qualification, we look at the cover design, the number of reviews, what readers are saying in those reviews, when the book was published, and other subjective factors.

You will see some extraordinary reads that are so outstanding that they are listed in more than one genre. We have done this to maximize that novel's exposure to new readers.

As a firm principle, we do not receive compensation from any author or publisher to list their book. This ensures that the novels on 5-Star Books are indeed worthy to be here.

Shader news

I've made good progress on The Unweaving. Once my latest editing commission has been completed I'll be dedicating a few hours each day to getting book 3 finished. That will complete the first Shader trilogy. I'll then be free to resume work on book 4, The Archon's Assassin, which is already in fairly good shape.

I also have a Shader novella to finish off in the next few months -- The Seventh Horse.

The second book of The Chronicles of the Nameless Dwarf is also well underway. The Axe of the Dwarf Lords should appear before The Unweaving, probably at some point in January, once the cover art is finished.

Book 1, The Ant-Man of Malfen is currently only $0.99 in the US and Free in the UK.

Incredible review from Journal of Always

Cadman's Gambit has received a thorough and extremely insightful review by Robert J. Duperre of Journal of Always:

JOA review of Cadman's Gambit

"Cadman’s Gambit: Shader Book I by D.P. Prior, [is] a novel that now holds a place in my heart as the most perfect introductory novel to a series I’ve ever read, surpassing the previous champion, The Gunslinger." (Journal of Always)

Readers Favorite awards Cadman's Gambit 5 stars

Readers Favorite Review

Reviewed by Molly E. for Readers Favorite

This author has some major talent. I've never read anything by him before, and I am quite surprised at how well I enjoyed this story. Prior has a unique style about him that really can draw the reader in. While fantasy novels are not my first choice of reading genre, there are ones like this that can really draw me in. This particular novel has all the great aspects of a fantastic fantasy: action, evil, good, laughter and futuristic elements.

First, I want to say that the cover itself is outstanding. I love a good cover on a novel and this one, well, it is really awesome. It's eye catching and totally in sync with the novel itself. Second, all the characters of this novel are fantastic. It was like watching a movie, I totally love that feeling.

The action that fills this novel is stunning. The magic that's woven in is breathtaking. I loved it. Which is quite surprising for me. The characters come to terms with themselves as the Gods battle in this fantastic story of good vs. evil.

I highly recommend this novel to everyone out there. And, even if you are like me and not a fantasy genre lover, I still suggest you give this a try. This author has mad talent and will grip each new reader and take them on a journey into the unknown Abyss, leaving you hungry for more. I can't wait to read the next one.
